When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be

We are pleased to invite you to participate in The 3rd Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference Mathematical Transgressions, organized by the Institute of Mathematics of the Pedagogical University of Cracow. The conference will be held in Cracow, Poland from 18th to 23rd June, 2017

We believe that the whole is always greater than the sum of its parts (Aristotle). Also, adopting V. Frankl's laws of dimensional ontology we believe that by taking a multidimensional perspective when investigating mathematics and mathematics education we are able to see more and develop a deeper understanding of the meaning of it all. We are profoundly convinced that, according to the words of Polish psychologist, J. Kozielecki, as human beings, we are all capable of exceeding the boundaries of who we are and what we possess, to become who we may be, and achieve what is within the scope of our possibilities.

Thus, we are going to exceed the boundaries of mathematics again, and examine issues surrounding mathematics and its pedagogy together with researchers from all over the world who represent not only different scientific disciplines, but also different cultures, and thus may bring fresh perspectives to our discussions. We warmly invite especially mathematicians, mathematics educators, psychologists, philosophers and teachers of mathematics who are interested in transforming mathematics education and making it better for all the students.

We propose the following subjects to be discussed, but you are more than welcome to extend and enrich that list:

The conference program will include plenary lectures, workshops, oral presentations and a poster session.

Everyone is invited to contribute to this conference.

We hope to see you in Cracow in June 2017!
